MTSC Literacy Project

Community service is part of MTSC's charter, and as part of our mission, we have raised funds to support literacy projects in the Nashville area. We are currently helping Youth Encouragement Services and Cottage Cove Urban Ministries.

In April 2003, the club donated 153 books to NashvilleREAD's ORDIS (One Room Drop-In School) and Family Literacy efforts.

In 2004, we raised $600 and donated 288 books to ORDIS.

In 2005 we raised $2,000 for the project. YES and Cottage Cove each received $1,000 for use in their literacy programs.

In 2006, YES and Cottage Cove each received $500 from MTSC.

In 2007, we increased our support back to $2,000, giving $1,000 each to YES and Cottage Cove.

2008 was our best year yet, thanks to the boost from the Music City Bowl! We gave $2,000 to YES and $1,000 to Cottage Cove.

In 2009, we gave $1,500 to YES and $750 to Cottage Cove, a total of $2,250.
